The Skilled Machinist role requires a professional, skilled and enthusiastic person. An in depth knowledge of CNC milling is critical to the role along with a high level of programming skills, an extensive knowledge of tooling and machine shop best practice. Experience of CAD-CAM systems would be advantageous.
Tasks include: -
• Programming, setting and operating Bridgeport VMC machining centre with Heidenhain TNC370 control system.
• Operating multiple machines where possible and safe to do so.
• Manual milling with the ability to turn advantageous.
• Machining of components using best practice to provide accurate, high quality components in a timely manner.
• Continually pursue methods to improve the quality and throughput of manufacturing.
• Self-inspection of all items manufactured, providing assistance with fellow coworkers where requested.
• Sourcing raw materials and tooling from stock, highlighting any shortfalls to the Production Manager.
• Following all Health and Safety procedures and instructions.
• You may be required to carry out other reasonable duties within your capabilities as required and instructed, should the needs of the business require it.
Salary
Depending upon experience £12-£12.50/hr.
Hours of Work
The normal hours of work are 40 per week.
